Agent Provoceteur
Artist Agent Provoceteur
Biography Agent Provocateur likes cutting holes in pieces of paper with his trusty rusty scalpel, collecting unwanted chunks of wood and card from skips, and canvases from sales... all in the aid of stencil art. Cynical, bored, angry and lazy, AP feels the need to comment on his distorted and irreverent vision of the world, forcing his opinions on an unsuspecting (and invariably uncaring) public.

Blek Le Rat
Artist Blek Le Rat
Biography "Every time I think I've painted something slightly original, I find out that Blek Le Rat has done it as well. Only twenty years earlier." Banksy, 2005

Blek Le Rat (Xavier Prou) was born in Paris in 1951. He is a grand master of street art, and considered by many to be the originator of stencil graffiti. Blek has been adorning the streets of Paris with his hugely original and intelligent artwork since the early eighties, and he has been a massive influence on today’s graffiti and guerrilla art movements.

He started decorating the streets of Paris in 1981 with a rat stencil, hoping to create an invasion of rats in the city. He was inspiered to created this stencil after seeing the graffiti in New York in the 70’s, but he didn’t just want to copy the American style he wanted to create a style that suited Paris and so he chose the stencil as he saw this something very Latin.

Dan Baldwin
Artist Dan Baldwin
Biography DAN BALDWIN Born in Manchester.
His work deals with topics such as innocence, life-death, vanities, love, politics, symbolism, beauty, innocence and decay-.Everything really that comes under the topic LIFE.
The collecting of 'real' elements has always been an important part of the layering process, and in the past we have seen Baldwin use real Iraq and U.S. currency, vintage crucifixes and real bullets, stag horns, guns and vintage war memorabilia in his work. The paintings are never planned, but take on an organic spontaneous journey.
This way of working is based more on feeling and a train of thought process.
He was selected as one of five artists on BBC2's THE APPRENTICE, (series 1, episode 5).
His work has featured in spaces worldwide including the FORSTER gallery,(London) Basel Art Fair,(Switzerland),The ICA, the windows of London’s SELFRIDGES, Catto Contemporary, The Leonard St Gallery,Ink-D gallery, Lazinc Gallery, The New York Art Fair, London Art Fair,Gallerie Suty Paris,43 Molton St , Tom Tom, Zoo Art Fair (Royal Academy), Pulse (Miami),Scope (New York )- Gen Art Miami, Bankrobber and more.
Since 2001,he has donated to over twelve charity art events , supporting causes like the Red Cross, The Willow Foundation, Prostate Cancer, The Kennesaw Skate-park, Big Issue, Ollie Bennett foundation, Rocking-Horse appeal, Shelter and many others.
Although primarily a painter, Baldwin produces ceramics, and in the past has been commissioned to create bookcovers, & album covers for Overlook Publishers and Wall of Sound.
In Oct 08 Dan was asked to dress the windows of London’s coolest boutique, START, co owned by Brix Smith, ex guitar player and wife of Mark E Smith, the Manchester front man of legendary band The Fall. 'Sugar and spliced and all things diced' featured two paintings, a neon work, dismembered children’s limbs scattered across an autumnal setting.
He was voted critics choice on the Saatchi gallery/your gallery website in Sep 06 by ex-Art Review editor Rebecca Wilson -
Baldwin has never aimed to be from any 'urban' or 'street' background, having studied fine art/ illustration, although in 2008 was featured in Bonham’s first 'urban' art auction - gaining a record price for a sale - APOCALYPSE WOW - THE END OF EVERYTHING fitted perfectly within the urban art setting with two huge canvasses comprising of burned US and UK flags, skulls and flowers. The piece sold for more than £25,000.
In-between then and now there is work going to Lancaster, to the newly refurbished Storey Gallery, New York, Notting Hill and Philladelphia. .
In October 09 Baldwin’s work is featured in a new film FREESTYLE out in 50 cinemas across UK.
Artwork The words Urban and Montage are used loosely in all forms of art, Dan takes the image to a new level.

Biography My Work crosses Genres, from urban street art to fine art, graphics to illustration. All are prevalent in my work. I see no reason to pursue on above the other, because let's face it, boundaries are there to be broken.

Depth and layers are an integral feature of my work, it's inspired by the things we see around us everyday. The different levels of corroding walls and buildings, rusted metals and weather beaten street signs. The Beauty in the imperfections, that's what I strive to achieve in each piece.

I have a tendency to create works based around portraiture and figures in a range of traditional, stylized and abstracted forms, often together in the same painting. This is another acknowledgement to the presence of everyday life in my work. We see people all the time, be it on the street, in newspapers and magazines, or on T.V. This level of familiarity allows me to push the boundaries of the pieces I create whilst still leaving people with a sense of connection towards the image.

Julian Kimmings
Artist Julian Kimmings
Biography Julian Kimmings is a Yorkshire born artist now residing in Chester, England.

Julian graduated in 1997 with a BA (hons) in Illustration, at that time having artwork exhibited at the ICA, London. Shortly after graduation he pursued a career of over a decade in design, only starting to paint again at the latter end of 2008.

Julian's themes are born from a childhood consumed by sci-fi, comic books, cartoons, graffiti and boredom. Often conceived in varying combinations of aerosol, acrylics paint, ink, graphite and/or emulsion on various surfaces including canvas, wood, walls and board his images combine abstract portraiture and hints of pattern, implying a measure of illustrative prose.

His images are often mistaken to be a series. While it is true that some are based upon myth or legend, each image is a fragment in time, captured in a visually stimulating manner and very much involved with transparency. Transparency of the soul, emotions and thoughts, often merged with fragments of folklore or myth.
