The Bluecoat The Bluecoat is the oldest Grade 1 listed building in central Liverpool and a major landmark on the UK map of contemporary culture. The Bluecoat provides studio spaces for artists within a unique creative community and uses its spaces to showcase talent in visual arts, live art, music, dance and literature.

 Castlefield Gallery Castlefield Gallery is an artist focussed organisation that is all about the development of contemporary art, artists and audiences. It works with regional, national and international artists on exhibition and events, and offers a range of professional development activities for artists. In addition it manages www.TheArtGuide.co.uk, the dedicated listings website of contemporary visual arts activity in the North West.

Chinese Arts Centre is the national centre for the promotion of contemporary Chinese art. The Contemporary Art Society exists to develop public collections of contemporary art across the UK for as wide an audience as possible. We are also the UK’s leading authority on contemporary collecting.  Cornerhouse Cornerhouse is Manchester’s International Centre for Contemporary Visual Arts and Film.  Creative Tourist Creative Tourist is Manchester’s multi-award winning online arts magazine. It publishes features and vodcasts with the UK’s best-known writers and artists. Harris Museum & Art Gallery The Harris Museum & Art Gallery is located right in the heart of Preston and hosts a diverse programme of exhibitions and events.  Discover contemporary art, fine art, decorative art and historic collections of national significance. There’s plenty to keep families entertained, along with a café and Harris shop. Entrance is free.

 

Henry Moore Institute

 Explore the meaning of sculpture at this beautiful gallery space in the heart of Leeds.  A changing programme of nine free exhibitions each year features everything from prehistoric carvings to traditional sculptures and cutting edge contemporary works.  Find out more in the unique sculpture library or attend a free talk.

 


Hepworth Wakefield The Hepworth Wakefield will be the largest new art gallery outside London. Opening in May 2011, it celebrates the achievements of Barbara Hepworth, who was born and raised in the Wakefield district. A highlight of the displays is an unseen collection of sculptures by Hepworth that reveal new stories about her life and creative practice.

Manchester Art Gallery Manchester Art Gallery is one of the region's most popular cultural venues, visited by almost 400,000 visitors annually.  Located in the heart of the city, it houses a world-renowned collection of fine art an decorative art: from the Pre-Raphaelites to Hockney; from Auguste Rodin to Henry Moore; from ancient pottery to 21st century design. Manchester Craft & Design Centre Manchester Craft & Design is a unique organisation comprising of 18 independent retail/studio spaces, an excellent cafe, events and a rolling programme of exhibitions from leading national and international makers of original contemporary craft and design. Located in Manchester city centre's Northern Quarter, Manchester Craft and Design Centre is at the hub of a growing innovative and artistic community.

 People's History Museum Ideas have always been worth fighting for.  After a £12.5 million redevelopment the new and improved People’s History Museum is open!  Come and visit to find out more about Britain’s struggle for democracy over the last two centuries.  Also visit our changing exhibition gallery, community gallery, shop and riverside cafe. 

Redeye Redeye, the Photography Network, is a not-for-profit organisation based in Manchester. It was set up by photographers to support photographers at every level, help move their careers forward, and improve the health of photography generally, with information, opportunities, advice and events, run in partnership with many different organisations.
