The And Festival at the Cornerhouse
Abandon Normal Devices (AND) is a new festival that welcomes audiences to experience the best in new cinema and media art in a celebration that spills from the screen and galleries into the landscape and imaginations of the North West. In October 2010 AND will take place in Manchester, presented by Cornerhouse.

Picasso at the Tate Liverpool
Presented at Tate Liverpool from 21 May to 30 August 2010; this exhibition will reveal a fascinating new insight into the artist's life as a tireless political activist and campaigner for peace, challenging the widely held view of Picasso as creative genius, playboy and compulsive extrovert.

Liverpool Biennial
Liverpool Biennial is the UK’s largest as well as one of the most exciting contemporary visual arts events, and with 960,000 visits in 2008, it is one of the best attended in the world.

Own Art
Own Art is Arts Council England’s interest free loan scheme designed to make it easy and affordable for everyone to buy contemporary works of art and craft by living artists.

You can borrow up to £2,000, or as little as £100, and pay back the loan in 10 monthly instalments – completely interest free.
The scheme will be available through selected Own Art member galleries at Buy Art Fair this year, and you will also find it in over 250 galleries across England and Scotland. To find a gallery near you please visit www.ownart.org.uk

To be eligible to apply for an Own Art loan you need to be:

• over 18 years old
• a permanent UK resident
• in possession of a bank or building society account that can operate direct debit payments

You’ll also need to have two forms of identification with you – one for proof of signature, such as a debit or credit card, and the other for proof of address. This could be a driving licence or bank statement, for example.

Arts Council England aims to put the arts at the heart of national life. Own Art helps us to do this by making it possible for people to live with art they love. Using the scheme also helps support artists and galleries who sell high quality contemporary art.
