A range of creative art courses and drawing workshops will be available for adults across the Buy Art fair weekend, hosted by Brian Raymond. The workshops will be held on stand 800 at the fair.

 

A contemporary approach to still life drawing

This informative taster workshop will inspire you to pick up the humble oil pastel and discover its exciting possibilities.  You will learn a range of simple yet effective techniques to start you on your journey to developing a uniquely personal style of drawing with inspiration from Cezanne, the father of Modernism. You will have the opportunity to explore the versatility of oil pastels, using colour blending and layering techniques.

 

Re-interpreting still life drawing

Join in a sociable and playful technique to help re-vitalise your drawing and painting.  This method of looking at an ordinary still life will add a new layer of intrigue and interest to your work, while giving you an insight into the thinking behind Cubist art works by artists like Picasso and Braque.  You will have the opportunity to explore the versatility of chalk pastel and pencil.

Relaxation by design

Learn how to shade and tone with pen and pencil by designing your own Doodle-patterns.  This relaxing and inspiring taster workshop will teach you step by step how to create stunning designs and use shading to create contrasts to develop depth and focus in your drawings and paintings.
